Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala, has revealed that her dad wasn’t happy with her “pull-off jersey” celebration in Super Falcons 3-2 victory over Women’s World Cup co-hosts, Australia on Thursday.
Oshoala came off the bench took off her jersey after scoring Nigeria’s third goal which later turned out to be the match winner.
For taking off her jersey, Oshoala recieved a yellow card from the match official. She was also criticised on social media for “exposing her body” which critics argued was against the tenets of her religion, Islam.
Sharing a picture of her “pull-off jersey” celebration via her Instagram page, Oshoala said even her dad would be sad over her choice of celebration but added that it was part of life.
She wrote, “My Dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration but then again, life is a collection of moments”
