An early morning hearth on Monday razed some outlets within the Nnamdi Azikwe and Docemo part of the Idumota Market in Lagos State, destroying items value tens of millions of Naira
The hearth affected three buildings, together with two two-storey buildings and one three-storey constructing available in the market widespread for garments, baggage and sneakers.
The Lagos State Fireplace and Rescue Service, LSFS, confirmed the incident on its X deal with and stated firefighters have been deployed to the scene to salvage the state of affairs.
An announcement by the Director, LSFRS, Margaret Adeseye, learn: “The Lagos State Fireplace and Rescue Service has been alerted to a hearth emergency on the intersection of Nnamdi Azikiwe and Docemo in Idumota, Lagos. At 07:41 hours, the decision was acquired, and emergency providers swiftly mobilized.
“Upon arrival at 07:58 hours, it was found that the fireplace encompasses three buildings, together with two 2-storey buildings and one three-storey constructing.
“At the moment, firefighting efforts are underway on the scene.
“The hearth stations at Ebute Elefun, Ilupeju, and Alausa have deployed assets to mitigate the state of affairs successfully because the firefighting operation is ongoing.”
Adeseye additional acknowledged that the reason for the fireplace is but to be identified, and no casualties have been recorded.
“The reason for the fireplace is but to be decided, and investigations are ongoing. Casualties haven’t been confirmed right now. We urge residents to cooperate with emergency personnel and keep away from the realm for his or her security,” she stated.
