The immediate past Minister of Power, Engr Abubakar D. Aliyu, has refuted claims of granting any media or blog interviews since his departure from office on May 29, 2023, urging the public to disregard any interview attributed to him concerning the power sector.

He said, “I wish to clarify that I have not granted any media interviews since leaving office about a year ago. The interviews published by certain blogs and news outlets bearing my name and image are entirely false and unauthorised.”

In a statement, his media office emphasised the need for the public to ignore the circulating interviews while an investigation into the matter was underway.

The statement further reads: “In one instance, an interview conducted by a television station with another former Minister of Power, who shares a similar surname with me, was erroneously attributed to Engr Abubakar D. Aliyu.”
