On Friday, an Abuja tow truck driver working for the Federal Road Safety Corps was killed while lifting a broken-down trailer from the Karu Bridge on the Nyanya-Maraba Motorway.
The Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, reportedly expressed shock over the event and commiserated with the management and employees of the corps over the loss, according to a statement by the FRSC Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem.
The terrible accident happened at exactly 04:02 hours while the FRSC tow truck on tow services was removing the broken-down truck along the previously indicated road, according to the statement.
A total of four people were engaged in the collision, three of whom suffered varying degrees of injuries, and one of whom—the driver of the tow truck—died as a result of the investigation. The truck and the FRSC tow truck were the only two vehicles there.
