All 24 nations that will compete in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire have guaranteed their spots in the event.

The five-time AFCON champions Cameroon defeated Burundi 3-O on Tuesday, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, to round off the list of elite teams who qualified.

According to a list of the qualified nations, 12 former AFCON champions, including three-time champion Nigeria, will be in attendance in January 2024.

The hosts, Cote d’Ivoire, will be heading an impressive 11-nation West African delegation that includes the current champions Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Guinea, and Burkina Faso, among others.

After a valiant performance in the qualifiers, Tanzania, the East African representative, returns for a second finals.

Seven-time winner Egypt is joined by World Cup semifinalist Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria as representatives of the region.

Egypt will be vying for an eighth unheard-of championship after making it to two of the past three finals in 2017 and 2021.

Since the continent’s football power houses were able to keep their qualifying, NAN reports that there won’t be any debutants in this edition.

After being moved from its planned June 2023 date, the 2023 AFCON will now take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024.

The full list of the 24 eligible nations includes Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire (Hosts), and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Additionally, Equatorial Guinea, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, and Mozambique are included.

Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal (titre holders), South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Zambia are additional nations.
