Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has urged the Renewed Hope Projects Media Team in the state to conduct their project tour with professionalism, objectivity, fairness, and accuracy.
Governor Otti gave the charge Tuesday evening in Umuahia when the state government received members of the Renewed Hope Projects Media Tour who are in Abia to inspect various projects executed by President Bola Tinubu and Governor Alex Otti.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, Otti described the visit as a significant step towards promoting transparency, accountability and public awareness of government projects and policies across the country.
As you carry out this responsibility, I urge you to uphold the principles of professionalism, objectivity, fairness and accuracy.
“The country is in need of journalists who can rise above such challenges, resist misinformation and contribute meaningfully to the national development.
“We welcome scrutiny because we believe that genuine progress should be viewed, assessed and reported objectively,” Governor Otti said.
The governor who encouraged the media team to interact freely with Abia people, stated that the various projects executed by the Abia State Government in communities reflected the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who led the team, said in his speech on behalf of the Renewed Hope Media Tour team, that his team would objectively inspect key federal and state projects.
He stressed the need for partnership between the federal and state governments for national development.
