The Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has assured residents of the state that his administration, in collaboration with the Federal Government, is tackling insecurity and other challenges being faced by the citizens.

This is as he enjoined citizens in the state to learn the lessons of Ramadan for the peace and progress of the state.

He made the call on Wednesday at the Emir of Zazzau’s Palace where he observed the Sallah Durbar celebration shortly after the Eid prayer in Zaria.

The governor said, “We have prayed for the peace of our state in the month of Ramadan and I want us to learn the lesson of Ramadan and continue to work for the peace and progress of the state and the country generally.

“We are facing some challenges as you are aware, mostly insecurity. We are all working closely together with the stakeholders and the government at the federal level in addressing them.

“We also have other challenges that we are looking at generally. We are calling on our citizens to continue to work for the progress of our state.”

The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Bamalli, commended the Federal, and Kaduna state governments and security operatives for the effort they put in place to ensure peace in the state.

He also hailed the government’s joint effort in rescuing the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren who were released recently.

“The effort of the Federal and Kaduna State Government towards resettling the Tudun Biri community is highly commendable.

“I want to also commend our Islamic clerics for the special prayers they offered during the Holy month of Ramadan in ensuring peace in our state,” he said.
