A professor at Medgar Evers School/Metropolis College of New York, Augustine Okereke, has warned that it could be tough for the nation to progress with out robust establishments.

Okereke, who spoke in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Thursday, stated that lack of robust (social) establishments in Nigeria is impeding sustainable growth.

The don then appealed to President Bola Tinubu to encourage a system of robust establishments that may test corruption, amongst different social issues within the nation.

The don spoke whereas presenting a lead paper on the maiden annual Ibadan social science convention held on the College of Ibadan.

The don, whereas addressing the gathering, added that “all our establishments are on the decline.”

He famous that with out efficient buildings put in place, it is going to be tough for Nigeria to attain sustainable growth.

He stated, “African international locations specifically face very enormous challenges in assembly sustainability in each sector.

“With out these buildings, African nations will proceed to fail into poverty, underemployment and injustice.”

The Dean of the College of Social Sciences, College of Ibadan, Professor Ezebunwa Nwokocha, said that the College of Ibadan Social Science has deep mental, context-specific options to the challenges dealing with Nigeria.

Nwokocha, stated that social science and humanities researchers have what it takes to help the management of the nation in navigating the issues confronting the nation.

He stated, “Our college is reputed for providing deeply mental, workable, and context-specific options to the challenges confronted by Nigeria over the ages. Mr Chairman, we produced professors Ojetunji Aboyade, Akin Mabogunje, Peter P. Eke, Onigu Otite, and Dennis Ugwuegbu, amongst others.

“Their offspring are right here and insisting via groundbreaking analysis that mental management is non-negotiable”.
