The Katsina State Police Command detained 1005 individuals in 853 recorded crimes from June 1 to September 30, 2023.
395 of the 1005 cases are being prosecuted in Katsina State’s competent tribunals, the Command added.
Within the same period, the Command rescued 171 abducted victims, neutralized five suspected kidnappers, and collected 4 AK-47 rifles, 6 locally produced firearms, and 517 live rounds of ammunition.
The PPRO, Assistant Superintendent of Police Abubakar Sadiq, said this at a Monday news conference at the Katsina State Police Command Headquarters on behalf of Commissioner of Police Aliyu Abubakar Musa.
Of the 1005 suspects, ASP Sadiq claimed 53 were detained for robbery, 82 for kidnapping, 73 for murder, 90 for rape, and 707 for drug possession, cultism, inciting unrest, and gang-related crimes.
In the time under review, the Katsina Police PRO reported recovering approximately 600 suspected rustled livestock and several stolen motor cars and motorbikes.

The Command also recovered 568 sachets of D5 tablets, 180 wraps of dried leaves presumed to be Indian hemp, 23 packets of Exzole tablets, 411 packets of Rebozel tablets, and 5 packs of Diezole tablets.
