Lagos prohibits inflammable storage

The government of Lagos State has issued a warning regarding the careless handling and storage of combustible materials.

Lagos State Government targets bridge facilities and priority projects when it opens the N125 billion bond subscription.The state reaffirmed Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and shielding the populace from dangers in a joint statement released over the weekend by Olugbenga Oyerinde, the commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, and Lanre Mojola, the director-general, Safety Commission.

The risks involved in handling and transporting flammable materials, fuels, chemicals, and other dangerous goods are enormous and can result in significant loss of life, property damage, and legal action, according to Oyerinde, who stated that it is now essential to educate the public about the need to be more safety conscious.

The DG, Mojola, stated in his remarks that it was impossible to put a number on the value of lives.

He revealed that the commission has launched the “Safety For You” campaign, which aims to give every Lagosian top priority when it comes to their safety. The goal of this campaign is to increase awareness of proactive safety measures in business, occupational, and personal settings.

He claims that under extreme pressure and temperature, chemical and combustible stockpiles run the risk of exploding and catching fire.

He reminded us that our safety and the safety of our neighbors are paramount and urged the public to assume accountability. “Please speak up when you see something. A harm done to one is a harm done to everyone.

He said that commission officers were circulating the area to make sure everyone was safe.

He advised tradespeople and artisans to consult experts before handling combustible items or relocating them within the State.

He warned people to report any dangerous goods stockpiles to 07000SAFETY or the closest law enforcement agency.
