A yet-to-be-identified male grownup died after an electrical cable drum fell on him at Ojo-Igbede Street within the Ojo Native Authorities Space of Lagos State.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
He mentioned the corpse had been deposited on the morgue whereas the investigation is ongoing.
Hundeyin mentioned: “The corpse has been deposited within the mortuary for post-mortem and preservation. An investigation is ongoing.”
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday whereas a forklift was lifting armoured cable drums.
“By the way, one of many cable drums disconnected and fell on a passerby, who was mentioned to be urgent his cellphone whereas strolling, and he gave up the ghost on the best way to hospital. The scene was visited by detectives of the Ilemba-Hausa division, and inquiries have been made,” a police supply disclosed.
In the meantime, the corporate’s proprietor has been taken into custody for questioning.
