Military rewards officers for rejecting N1.5m bribe

The Army Particular Activity Power in control of sustaining peace in Plateau State has rewarded eight personnel of Operation Secure Haven for rejecting N1.5m bribe from suspected cattle rustlers within the state.

A press release by the spokesman for the duty pressure, Capt. Oya James, mentioned the eight personnel, deployed at OPSH Sector 4, intercepted 30 rustled cows belonging to 1 Shehu Umar at Bisichi checkpoint in Barkin Ladi native authorities space of the state.

He added that the cattle had been rustled in Mangu and had been being transported to an undisclosed location when troops of the duty pressure on a stop-and-search operation intercepted them.

Based on the assertion, “the occupants of the car, Anas Usman, 20 years previous, and Gyang Cholly, 42 years previous, instantly approached the troops in a bid to bribe them and safe a safety move for the stolen cattle.

“The financial plea was rejected and the suspects had been arrested, in addition to the cash supplied for the bribe.”

Based on the assertion, the commander, Operation Secure Haven, Maj. Gen. Abubakar, whereas presenting a money reward to the distinguished personnel, urged different safety personnel to repeatedly exemplify good conduct and bravado within the discharge of their duties.
