Nollywood actor and director Charles Inojie has described the dying of his colleague, John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, as an “irreparable loss” to the Nigerian film trade.
He said that the late comedian actor is irreplaceable in Nollywood, stressing that casting him alone was sufficient to make a film a blockbuster.
Talking in a current interview with Channels TV, Inojie stated, “There’s typically you lose an individual in an trade and also you say, properly, so or so individual would change him. However Mr Ibu is irreplaceable. Mr Ibu spears with each a part of his physique.
“He’s in all probability one of many few individuals in Africa that might sit with out saying something would talk 1,000,000 messages along with his facial expressions, physique language and gestures with out verbalising only one phrase of dramatic dialogue. That doesn’t come low cost. We’re going to miss that.
“You could have John [Okafor], you have got a blockbuster.”
reporter remembers that Mr Ibu died of cardiac arrest on the age of 62 on Saturday.
