The Nigeria Customs Service announced that it will organise a workshop on trade facilitation in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture.

In a statement issued on Thursday, it was stated that Adewale Adeniyi, the acting comptroller general of customs, revealed this while hosting a delegation from NACCIMA in Abuja under the leadership of Dele Oye, the organization’s president.

Adeniyi added that by working together, trade facilitation will be successful, and trade in the nation will have a better future.

In order to organise a sensitization workshop for the two parties, the Service will work with NACCIMA, he said.

The acting CGC was earlier congratulated on his appointment by NACCIMA President Oye.

He also praised his outstanding efforts to raise the NCS and his significant strategy for controlling the nation’s trade industries.

Oye reaffirmed that NACCIMA is steadfastly committed to supporting the service in all ramifications while also reminding the acting CGC of the concerns surrounding the certificate of origin.

Oye urged Adeniyi to educate service officers about the new NCS Act, 2023.

However, the acting NCS boss gave Oye a guarantee that the service would do everything possible to involve them (NACCIMA) in the region.

Adeniyi also attended a separate meeting with United Bank for Africa representatives.

At the meeting, Kayode Fashola, the delegation’s leader, congratulated Adeniyi on his new position and let him know that the bank was committed to fostering a friendly working relationship with UBA.

Adeniyi was grateful for the delegation’s timely visit and assured them that the service was committed to strengthening their partnership.
