Naira depreciates towards USD at foreign exchange market

For the primary time since final week, the Naira depreciated marginally towards the US greenback on the international alternate market on Tuesday.

Knowledge from FMDQ confirmed that the Naira dropped to N1,615.94 per USD on Tuesday from N1,582.94 on Monday.

This represents an N30 or 2.0 per cent depreciation in comparison with the N1,582.94 recorded on the shut of buying and selling on Monday.

In the meantime, the Naira exchanged for N1,618.489 per USD on Tuesday on the parallel market from a median of N1,600 on Monday.

The FX fee at each international alternate markets confirmed that the margin had shrunk to N2.5.

The CBN had introduced the resumption of international alternate gross sales on to eligible Bureau De Change Operators.
