Oluwatoyin Madein, the next Accountant-General of the Federation, vowed on Friday to lead an administration free from corruption.
When Madein, the first female Accountant-General, took over from Sylva Okolieaboh, the outgoing substantive AGF, in Abuja, she made this statement.
“Everyone is aware of the turbulence the Office of the Accountant General has experienced over the past year.
“The departing Ag. AGF just described how he managed to stop the tide. I ask that we proceed from there so that our Treasury House grows stronger.
“With your help, we can return to the illustrious era of our ancestors.
“In carrying out our statutory obligations, we must be guided by the general principles of zero-tolerance to corruption so that we can diligently restore the reputation of this great office.”
The newly appointed AGF, who formerly served as the Director of Finance and Accounts in the Office of the Head of the Federal Civil Service, declared that she will completely digitise the way the federal government manages its money.
