The capital of Niger State, Minna, is overflowing with protesters against the growing cost of living and food in the state.

As early as Monday morning, a large group of protestors blocked the Minna-Bida Road at the well-known Kpakungu roundabout.

When demonstrators demanded that the police leave, the police had to shoot several shots into the air to scatter the crowd, almost turning the situation violent.
