Nigerians must be ‘born again’ to attain desired development – Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has called on all Nigerians to rise above primordial sentiments and other negative tendencies for the country to attain its desired development.

Ganduje said in his welcome address at the colloquium to celebrate the 69th birthday of All Progressives Congress stalwart, Bola Tinubu.

The colloquium held in his state, was themed, ‘Our Common Bond, Our Common Wealth: The Imperative Of National Cohesion For Growth And Prosperity’.

Ganduje said, “As far as national integration is concerned, all Nigerians must become born again by turning a new leaf and doing away with the negatives tendencies that becloud sense of reason.”

The governor noted that the country is at a critical stage and it will take unity to overcome the challenges bedeviling it.

Speaking at the same event, the Chairman, APC Caretaker/Extraordinary convention planning committee, Mai-Mala Buni, said citizens needed to explore more areas that unite everyone.

Buni, who is also the Yobe State governor, at the colloquium said, “The people gathered here today are coming from different ethnic, religious, cultural and political backgrounds but share a common faith in the unity and future of Nigeria.”

Buni described Tinubu as a great leader, “a true democrat, a statesman and philanthropist with great concern for the future of Nigeria.”

He sought increased support to the Buhari administration to overcome security and other challenges facing the country.
