Ahmed Audi, the NSCDC’s Commandant General, has vowed to purge Niger State of the criminal forces who have recently terrorised the state.
During his working visit to Niger State Governor Umar Bago, Audi made this commitment.
The CG stated on Wednesday that the Corps will improve its working synergy with sister agencies in the state to meet the security concerns. The statement was signed by the Corps Spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi.
“We came here to witness for ourselves, a sort of on-the-spot assessment, of the security situation in Niger State and to become acquainted with you,” Audi stated.
To improve the security environment for the residents of Niger State, “we hope to focus on our synergy with other security agencies in the state.”

He pleaded with the governor to build new NSCDC offices in each of the State’s 26 local governments.
Governor Bago expressed his gratitude for the NSCDC Boss’s timely visit in his speech.
However, he bemoaned the state’s banditry, cattle rustling, and illicit mining activities, among other criminal activities, noting that the farmers were the worst affected as many of them abandoned their farmlands out of dread of assault.
The greatest land mass in the nation, which is also excellent for agricultural, is one of the reasons why Niger State is known as the “food basket” of the nation, according to Bago.
But because of the rising security concerns, our population is continuously vulnerable to bandits and other criminals.
