NYSC congratulates corps member over child birth
The NYSC Director-General Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim congratulated a Prospective Corps Member (PCM) Ramatu Yunusa, who gave birth to a baby boy soon after registering as a member of the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream II service corps in Bayelsa State.
In a statement signed by Director, Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, Ibrahim while at the Bayelsa State Referral Hospital, Kaiama, expressed delight at the safe birth of the baby.
He announced that the Scheme would settle the medical bills incurred by the PCM and her baby.
Briefing the Director-General, the NYSC Bayelsa State Coordinator Ojugo Elizabeth said Ramatu was conveyed to the hospital as soon as she started showing signs of labour, adding that she gave birth to her child at the hospital safely.
Corps Medical Doctor who attended to the PCM, Mbanusi Chiebonam Clara, confirmed that both mother and baby were in good condition.
Speaking during the visit, Ramatu and her husband, Liman Aliyu Suleiman, both expressed appreciation of the support given to the family by the NYSC Management.
