The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has extended the service of 16 of the 661 corps members who completed their service year on Friday in Katsina State.

For breaking the scheme’s norms and regulations, the 16 corps members had their service year extended.

Hajiya Aisha Muhammed, the state’s NYSC Coordinator, made the announcement on Friday in Katsina during a low-key passing-out ceremony.

She stated that some corps members were offered a one-month extension, others three weeks, and yet others two weeks.

She went on to say that three more members were recognized for excelling in their Community Development Service, CDS, projects during the year.

Their certificates of honor, she claims, were signed by Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda.

She did, however, advise the departing Corps members to capitalize on the abilities they gained via the NYSC abilities Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, program.

She also thanked the state government for the kindness shown to the scheme over the service year.
