A former presidential spokesman, Doyin Okupe, has stated that Nigerians will vote for President Bola Tinubu again in 2027.

Okupe, a former campaigner for Labour Party’s Peter Obi, stated that Tinubu’s social media nickname, T-Pain, merely signifies temporary pain.

Okupe mentioned this as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today show on Monday.

He stated that the southern and northern areas have an implicit understanding to rotate the president.

He stated that former President Muhammadu Buhari, who, in his opinion, did not perform well, had served eight years and that now that Tinubu is “doing well,” he would use those years.

“The Nigerians will decide. I’m sure. Nigerians are reasonable, intelligent people who do not expect too much from their leaders,” Okupe declared firmly, a day after meeting with the President in Abuja.

“If Bola Tinubu gives us light in 2027, if Bola Tinubu resolves this fuel crisis and this food crisis between now and that time, you’ll see that people will go on the streets and say it’s Bola or nobody,” according to him.

Okupe stated that Tinubu’s social media nickname, T-suffering, “means temporary pain that will lead to an extensive, pleasant, and something good for the nation”.

It was reported that Nigerians are dealing with the country’s highest inflation in decades.
