Police arrest two suspected child traffickers in Abuja, recover five children

The operatives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT police command have arrested two female suspected child traffickers, Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah.

In a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the command noted that the suspects escaped arrest from the Sokoto police.

She said the two women were intercepted and arrested by the operatives of the FCT command at the Kagini junction, Abuja while they were suspiciously conveying five children into the territory.

The PPRO stated that the command had handed the suspects and the five recovered children to its Sokoto State counterpart.

Part of the statement reads, “The suspects who attempted to escape arrest from Sokoto police operatives, were intercepted and arrested by FCT police operatives at Kagini junction, Abuja, while suspiciously conveying five (5) children into the Federal Capital Territory.

“The FCT police command, in the spirit of oneness, have now handed the suspects and victims over to Sokoto state police command for further investigation and onward prosecution.

“The commissioner of police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, urges parents to pay utmost attention to their wards while reaffirming his commitment to ensuring the safety of the residents of FCT.”
