The Police in Orerokpe Division led by CSP Paul Oboware have arrested two suspected kidnappers in reference to the alleged abduction of a sufferer and demanding a ransom of ₦5 million.
The arrested suspects embody Peter Idogor, 24yrs and Emmanuel Sunday, 19yrs, all of Evwreni Group in Ughelli South.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Abaniwonda Olufemi disclosed this throughout a briefing in Asaba, Delta State.
The State Police boss stated, “On 31/10/2023 at about 2217hrs, the DPO Orerokpe CSP Paul Oboware acquired a misery name concerning the suspected kidnap of 1 man (identify withheld) by three armed males.
“The abductors later contacted the household demanding 5 Million Naira ransom.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer swiftly mobilized and led detectives to the scene of the incident, combed all adjoining streets and bushes seeking hoodlums, and presumably rescue the sufferer.”
In accordance with CP Olufemi, “The sufferer was later launched after an undisclosed ransom was paid.
“Armed with accessible data, the DPO didn’t relent and has been on an intelligence-based investigation for the reason that date of the incident.
“The hassle of the Command paid off when on 05/03/2024 at about 1700hrs, with the help of a technically generated intelligence-led investigation”
“These suspects had been linked to the kidnap of the sufferer and the sufferer has recognized the 2 suspects.”
He famous that the investigation continues to be ongoing as efforts are being intensified to arrest the opposite fleeing gang members.
