Police hunt driver for alleged stealing of Chinese employer’s vehicle

The Ogun State Police command said it had begun a manhunt to fish out a driver, Kareem Mohammed, who allegedly fled with a vehicle belonging to his Chinese employer, known as Eve Nwang.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect allegedly stole the silver-coloured GACS car with the registration number GGE 317 GT on November 1, 2024, at about noon.

The spokesperson for the state command, Omolola Odutola, informed our correspondent on Sunday that the suspect’s employer, Nwang, is a staffer of Niger Cedar Company Ojodu, Abiodun Road, Ogun State.

PUNCH Metro further learnt that operatives of the Ojodu-Abiodun Police Division had begun to search for the whereabouts of the fleeing suspect.

Odutola said, “On November 1, 2024, Kareem Mohammed left the company to an unknown destination with a GACS car with registration number GGE 317 GT, engine number C95F800428, chassis number LMWFA1G27K1030032, silver coloured.”

Odutola added that all efforts to track down the vehicle and the fleeing suspect were ongoing.

“On receiving this report, detectives visited the scene and efforts to track down the vehicle for possible recovery and arrest the fleeing driver are underway.”

“The case is currently under investigation,” she added.

PUNCH Online reported on October 17, 2024, that a driver of a private logistics company in Lagos State identified as Temidayo, was on the run for his alleged involvement in a case of conspiracy and theft of the company’s truck.

Our correspondent had gathered that the stolen truck was recovered from a suspected accomplice, Segun Ajayi, in the Owode-Egba area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
