Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has disclosed that the House is taking action to solve the country’s security issues in response to the current wave of attacks in several areas.
The Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Musa Krishi, revealed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
He claims that Abbas offered the assurance to Amb. Ahmed Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, during a condolence visit.
According to Krishi, the visit was in response to the occurrence of the collapse of portions of the Zaria Central Mosque on August 11, which resulted in multiple fatalities and several injuries.
He added that the attack by bandits on August 12 in the Zaria neighbourhood of Kofar Gayan, which left two dead, was also a factor in the visit.
Abbas vowed that the House will also stop any subsequent recurrence of the attacks, the spokeswoman said.
According to Krishi, the Speaker expressed sorrow over the terrible events and reassured the Zazzau Emirate’s leadership and populace that the House has taken steps to prevent their repetition.
According to Krishi, Abbas gave the emir the assurance that the military would form up around some flashpoints to prevent further attacks on the communities in and around Zaria.
Additionally, he cited Abbas as saying: “I want to assure you that we in the House have taken some actions depending on the manner banditry wants to reemerge.
The soldiers will arrive and form up around the female school at the Kofar Gayan axis since we have begun engaging them. They promised to do it and gave us that assurance.
“I also want to reassure you that I am prepared to help with the mosque’s reconstruction as a son of the country and one of the kingmakers in this palace.
“Please let me know when the work is to begin so that I can donate my fair share to the renovation of this significant holy structure.
“We appreciate the chance to be here and offer our condolences with you,” they said.
