The Senate has confirmed the appointment of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The confirmation was made on Wednesday after the lawmakers considered the report of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, which had approved the nomination from President Muhammadu Buhari.
In his remarks, the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, expressed optimism that the appointment will bring innovations to the police.
