The inspector general of police and minister of police affairs have been encouraged to take the required actions to enhance the nation’s security situation by the Joint Senate and House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs.
This was said by the committee, which is co-chaired by Abubakar Yalleman and Abdulhamid Madori, when they appeared before the committee’s joint session in Abuja to defend the 2024 budget.

According to the committee, any government’s top priority should always be ensuring the safety of people and property, which is why the Nigeria Police must perform to the highest standards.
According to Mr. Yalleman, the national assembly will take the appropriate measures to guarantee that the actions required to improve police performance are taken.

“We will ensure that our police force and all supporting institutions can function as effectively and efficiently as possible,” he said, paying due respect to the budget.
