Men of the Delta State Police Command have arrested suspects who scammed an unsuspecting victim of N1.5m.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on X.com on Tuesday, the suspects deceived the victim by claiming to have seen a bright future for him.
Sharing a video of the victim, Edafe wrote, “This chap was scammed over N1.5m by some suspects who claimed that they saw a bright future for him.
“They took him to a river in Osun State all in a bid to extract more money from him.
“The victim reported to the police when he realised what was happening. They were promptly arrested.”
In a video shared by Edafe, the victim explained that one of the suspects approached him, claiming to have seen a bright future around him, and requested that he purchase coconut and salt.
The victim stated in part, “A day came when one guy saw me. He said that he saw a bright future around me, He said there is one thing he is going to do for me.
“He said I should buy coconut and salt, and that I will give him the coconut and he will take it to three junctions to pray for me.”
