On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu was hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House in Marina.

Former governors Akinwunmi Ambode and Babatunde Fashola, as well as Sanwo-Olu, were present.

Since Ambode left office in 2019, this was the first time all four of the state’s governors had been spotted together at a public event.

The governor expressed in his speech his joy at welcoming the President “to the place he (Tinubu) calls home.”

He praised the President for the initiatives implemented so far during his first 30 days in office, stating that it was in fact a time of “renewed hope.”

“I’m also pleased to note that this tenure started with the promise of change, and we are already beginning to see that change,” he continued.

“Mr. President, your election to the nation’s highest office was met with great anticipation and high hopes…I’m happy to say that you have earned your position as the commander-in-chief of the Nigerian armed forces in less than a month, Sanwo-Olu said.

To the President, he expressed “heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all Lagosians” and assured him that “Lagos is standing right behind you…We support your leadership wholeheartedly.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the president’s wife, Oluremi, the vice president, Kashim Shettima, and the president of the senate, Godswill Akpabio.
