Tinubu has rights underneath regulation to rent, hearth – Senators on removing of FCCPC boss

The Senate on Wednesday declared that President Bola Tinubu has rights underneath the Nigeria Labour Legislation to fireside any Chief Govt Officer of presidency businesses, together with the Federal Competitors and Shopper Safety Fee, Barr. Irukera.

The decision of the higher legislative Chamber, adopted a movement sponsored by Senator Michael Bamidele Opeyemi, citing breach of provisions of the Federal Competitors and Shopper Safety Fee, FCCPC.

Senator Opeyemi who represents Ekiti Central Senatorial District and Chief of the tenth Senate urged the Senate to look into the removing of the Chief Govt and Govt Vice Chairman of FCCPC to revive him.

“That the Senate do take into account the request of Mr. President, Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the removing of the CEO of FCCPC.”

After contributions by some lawmakers on the movement, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio in his remarks, stated, the President has energy underneath the Nigeria Labour Legislation to rent and hearth.

“Appointments of public officers are finished underneath the Labour Legislation and you can’t drive a keen servant on an unwilling grasp.”

The movement was thrown out following its rejection by way of voice votes.
