TROOPS of Operation Hadin Kai have eliminated another top commander of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Amir Kennami.

Kennami also known as ‘One Eye General’ was confirmed dead hours after a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) strike hit the sect’s logistics commander, Modu Sulum.

Kennami had sustained serious wounds during a gun duel with the troops of 134 Special Forces Battalion.

Lt. Col. Ishaya Aliyu Manga led the offensive carried out along the Gubio-Magumeri axis of the Northern Lake Chad area.

The operation took out other ISWAP fighters but those who survived helped Kennami to escape after bullets hit his lap and stomach.

The terrorist later died and was secretly buried by close aides at Gudumbali, the headquarters of Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno.

Kennami gave orders to other dreaded commanders like Ba-Lawan, Modu Sulum and Amir Modu Borzogo.

An intelligence source told PRNigeria that Kennami terrorized Magumeri, Nganzai and Gubio axis and led many attacks to dislodge military bases and formations.

The one-eyed kingpin supervised territories where he carried out atrocities: Damboa LGA – Bugadam, Talala, Ajigin, Mungusum Gwagwari, Abulam, Ajigin and Doksa villages.

Others were Gujba LGA – Lamisuri, Bijur and Dalari villages; Kaga LGA – Borgozo, Alagarno, Goniri Marguba villages, and Konduga LGA – Jewu Lamboa and Limlim villages.

“Over the years, he grew in influence in the ISWAP territorial base on the banks, islands of Lake Chad, and was known for the deployment of so-called spiritual warfare tactics during attacks”, the officer said.
