Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) candidate for the Zamfara Central senatorial zone, has conceded defeat to Hon. Ikira Aliyu Bilbis, the PDP candidate.
Marafa expressed his gratitude to the people of the Zamfara Central senatorial zone for giving him the chance to serve as their representative between 2011 and 2019 in a statewide broadcast on Monday. He wished them well.
He also expressed his gratitude to all parties involved and his supporters for sticking by him and giving him the courage to run in the election, noting that he had gained a lot of knowledge about the state’s new political landscape in the process.
However, the former senator thanked Governor Bello Matawalle for supporting him and helping to make sure that he ran in the senatorial election a third time.

He also expressed his gratitude to the party for standing firmly behind his bid for the Senate.
Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the newly elected president, and the Presidential Campaign Council for giving him the chance to serve as the chairman of the Tinubu campaign council in Zamfara State. He emphasised that the APC’s victory in Zamfara during the presidential election was sufficient proof of the party’s strength in the state.
Marafa pledged that he would never go to court to contest the outcome of the senatorial election in 2023, claiming that doing so would prevent the senator-elect from performing his duties and ultimately have an impact on the senatorial zone.
