DELEGATION LED BY HON. CHIEF DR. PHILIP AGBESE ATTENDS WAKE OF LATE ENGR. GODWIN OCHONU OKPABI AHEAD OF BURIAL
The Enone Servant, Hon. Chief Dr. Philip Agbese, Member representing Ado Local Government Area, Okpokwu Local Government Area and Ogbadibo Local Government Area Federal Constituency, led a delegation of dignitaries, party men and women, stakeholders, and friends to the wake of his father-in-law, the late Godwin Ochonu Okpabi, who passed away on December 9, 2025, and will be laid to rest on February 21, 2026.
The delegation, drawn from across the constituency, gathered to sympathize with the bereaved family and honour the memory of the deceased, whose life and contributions were widely acknowledged by community members and associates.
Note: The wife of Hon. Chief Dr. Philip Agbese is the immediate daughter of the late Engr. Okpabi, making the loss a deeply personal one for the federal lawmaker and his family.
The wake comes at a particularly emotional period for Hon. Agbese, who only recently laid his uncle, Dan Agbese, to rest on February 13, 2026. The back-to-back losses have drawn widespread sympathy from constituents and associates across the Enone Federal Constituency.
Dignitaries who accompanied the Enone Servant to the wake included the frontline contender for the Benue South Senatorial District, Hon. Dr. Prince Onuh; Hon. Frank Onuh; and Dr. Christy Ekoja, former Federal Commissioner of the Code of Conduct Bureau representing the North Central Zone.
Also present were the Chief of Staff to Hon. Agbese, Hon. Williams Okefie Ochonu; Hon. Josiah Owobi; Prince Yemi Itodo; Hon. Alegwu Adadu; Hon. Barrister Godwin Onwe; Dr. Benedict Ogaba; Engr. Julius Inedu; and Gideon Oche Unazi, alongside many other supporters and well-wishers.
During the visit, members of the delegation offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased and comfort for the family, describing the late Engr. Okpabi as a respected figure whose legacy of family values and community service will be remembered for generations.
The burial ceremony scheduled for February 21, 2026, is expected to attract political leaders, community stakeholders, and sympathizers from across Benue South and beyond.
