Veteran Nollywood actor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo has claimed that the Edo State government or its operatives were responsible for the murder attempt on Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in 2023.
Recall that Peter Obi and other ADC chieftains were ambushed by gunmen in Edo State on Tuesday.
In an appearance on “Prime Time” on Arise Television, Okonkwo remembered a prior warning to Peter Obi by current Edo State Governor Monday Okpehbolo not to enter the state without his permission.
“The attack on Peter Obi in Edo State was an attempt on his life by the government or its agents,” he stated.

Either government agencies or their operatives are to blame for this tragedy. The current governor of Edo State once threatened to prevent Peter Obi from entering the state without his permission, claiming that his safety would not be assured.
