Umar Sani, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused Justice Uche Agomoh of going above her judicial authority in her ruling about the current party issue.
Speaking about the consequences of the Ibadan court’s decision, Sani stated that since the party was not involved in starting the case, it did not rejoice the verdict.
He made this claim during an interview with Trust TV.
“I never celebrated the judgment of the Ibadan court, not because it is not worth celebrating, but because we were not the ones who took the matter to court,” he stated.
“At the time, a candidate seeking the position of Deputy National Organizing Secretary brought the issue before the court. The fact that we did not file the lawsuit in court makes it quite evident that we are not complicit in attempting to get or procure, as you put it, judgment in a High Court in Ibadan, even if the ruling favors our faction.
Sani further stated that the party had simply sought a mandamus order at the Federal High Court in Ibadan, which was the sole reason they had gone to court.
“We only filed a case in a Federal High Court in Ibadan, where we sought an order of mandamus, but Justice Agomuo ruled against us,” he stated.
All she had to deal with was a mandamus order. There was no prayer for anything else, but she got sidetracked and turned into a Father Christmas, giving away gifts that neither party had asked for. She dropped it. We’ll contest that, then.
