According to Dele Momodu, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), President Bola Tinubu will stop at nothing to destroy the opposition in Nigeria.
According to reports, Momodu made the statement in a post on his 𝕏 handle, pleading with detractors to refrain from attributing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) problem to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The seasoned journalist said that Nigerians must band together outside of political parties and fight back, blaming Tinubu for some of the problems seen within opposition political groups.
“I do not understand the logic behind this conversation: the only reason Wike could not be suspended or expelled from PDP is his stranglehold on the Judiciary and President Tinubu,” he said.
“Obi quit the PDP prior to the presidential primary. How can Atiku be held responsible for the PDP’s issues by any credible analyst?
“Wike’s group controlled the PDP’s choice to throw its Primary wide open, and Wike lost. How was that again Atiku’s fault?
“How is Atiku to blame for Wike’s decision to back Tinubu after he lost his bid to be Atiku’s running mate?
Were Atiku, Obi, or Wike guaranteed to defeat Tinubu on the PDP platform?
“Everyone has the right to pursue their own ambitions under the Nigerian Constitution, so why are we obsessed with attempting to stifle Atiku, who has never prevented others from doing the same?
Was Atiku responsible for the Labor and NNPP Parties’ disarray? Why do people act as though they are unaware that Nigeria is ruled by a despotic regime that has access to an unparalleled war chest and other tools of power?
“If Nigerians do not band together across political boundaries to fight back, it should be clear by now that Tinubu does not want any opposition and will do everything in his power to eradicate and destroy opposition.”
