The political movement surrounding Philip Agbese, popularly known as Okanga 1 of Agila, has gained renewed momentum as leaders and stakeholders from the Enone axis publicly reaffirmed their support for his second-term ambition.
At a gathering in Abuja, elder statesmen, political stakeholders, and loyal supporters from the Enone Federal Constituency met to deliberate on the future of the constituency and the continued leadership of the lawmaker representing the area in the National Assembly.
The meeting, though described as casual, carried significant political weight as participants expressed strong confidence in the leadership and performance of the federal lawmaker representing Ado Local Government Area, Okpokwu Local Government Area, and Ogbadibo Local Government Area.
In a show of solidarity, the gathering erupted in chants of the popular slogan, “On your mandate we shall stand,” signaling unwavering support for the lawmaker’s political direction. Many attendees declared that wherever Agbese chooses to go politically, the people of Enone would follow.
Some speakers at the meeting described the Okanga political movement as one that has transcended party lines in the constituency, insisting that his popularity and track record of development have made him a dominant political force in the area. According to them, if Nigeria’s electoral system allowed independent candidacy, Agbese would still secure victory without relying on any political party platform due to his widespread grassroots support.
The atmosphere became even more symbolic when supporters raised his hands and flashed the “4+4” sign, signaling their desire for him to secure a second term in 2027 and remain in the National Assembly until 2031.
Responding to the overwhelming show of support, Agbese expressed gratitude to the people for their confidence in his leadership. He reaffirmed his commitment to service, emphasizing that his political decisions would always be guided by consultations with his constituents.
He assured the gathering that he would continue to prioritize the welfare and interests of the people of Enone, pledging to sustain the developmental strides and empowerment initiatives that have defined his tenure.
Agbese also reiterated that his role in the National Assembly remains that of a servant-leader dedicated to representing the aspirations of the people who elected him to the Green Chamber.
The meeting concluded with renewed assurances from stakeholders that the Okanga political movement remains strong and united as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 electoral cycle.
