APC Vows to Combat Peter Obi’s Growing Influence

Ben Nwoye, the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) Deputy National Chairman (South), has declared that the party is prepared to undermine the power of former presidential candidate Peter Obi in the general elections of 2027.

During a speech on Channels Television, Nwoye promised that the APC would overcome the system.

He declared that the party would not take Obi for granted and acknowledged the Obidient Movement’s major influence in the previous election.

“If you come to the South-East and you see what happened in the last election, it was the grand zero for the Obidient movement; they practically took everywhere, including my state,” the APC leader declared. It’s significant because they won two of the three Senate seats, I believe 15 of the 24 House of Assembly seats, and seven of the eight House of Representatives seats.

“There is a man sitting there who went to Delta State, stole some, went to Edo State, won, and then, of course, won in Lagos State. Therefore, you should be ready when such a figure moves around. Keep in mind that he has two feed-on parties: the ADC, who has declared his intention to run, and the Obidient movement, which is present and active. Every vote will therefore be taken into account, and we will struggle through the system to ensure that we receive as many votes as possible in order to win.

The APC leader emphasized the party’s preparedness for the upcoming fight by pointing out that the South will present the ruling party with its greatest obstacle in the 2027 election.

“It was down south the last time, and it will be down south this time because different southerners want to be president.” Naturally, there is the Obi himself, as well as (Rotimi) Amaechi and a few others who haven’t made a formal announcement but are undoubtedly warming up,” he continued.

Obi, who won nine of the seventeen South states during his 2023 Labour Party presidential campaign, is currently a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and is running to be the party’s flagbearer in 2027.
