In an internet video that went viral, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) denounced false assertions that its fuel is short-lived.
According to reports, Olufemi Soneye, the NNPC spokesperson, claimed that the claim was completely unsubstantiated and unfounded, stemming from amateur, unconfirmed research that lacked professional control, credibility, and accuracy.
NNPC said in a statement on Saturday that Dangote Refinery supplied a large portion of the petroleum sold at NNPC filling stations in Lagos.

“NNPC Ltd. reiterates that its fuel is meticulously blended with one of the best compositions, guaranteeing consumers the best possible efficiency, longevity, and environmental sustainability.”Additionally, the Dangote Refinery, a critical partner in supporting local production and energy security, provides a significant amount of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at NNPC retail stations in Lagos, where this misleading film was produced. Dangote Refinery guarantees the quality of petroleum products provided to our customers by adhering to stringent industry standards.

“NNPC Ltd. will now vigorously prosecute people or organizations that purposefully disseminate misleading information about our activities and brand. The law will hold those involved in such nefarious actions entirely responsible.

“We implore the public to ignore such false information and to only trust reliable sources when seeking correct information. While upholding international industry standards, NNPC Ltd is unwavering in its goal to guarantee gasoline availability, price, and quality for all Nigerians,” the statement continued.
