The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has officially invited Governor Abba Yusuf to defect from the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, and join the ruling party.
The state APC chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, made the invitation on Tuesday on behalf of the immediate past National Chairman of the party, Umar Ganduje.
Abbas described the invitation as a step towards unity, reconciliation, and the collective progress of Kano State.
“The APC is ready to receive Governor Abba Yusuf with open arms so that, together, we can combine our strengths for the progress of the state,” he said.
Recall that the Director-General of the Protocol Directorate of the Kano State Government House, Abdullahi Rogo, had said that the citizens and voters of the state have agreed that Governor Yusuf and Rabiu Kwankwaso should defect to APC from NNPP.
Meanwhile, NNPP, in a press briefing on Monday, appealed to Governor Yusuf not to defect to APC.
