EFCC Probe: Aisha Achimugu Says Her Company Owns Oil Bloc, Explains $50,000 Found at Home

Aisha Achimugu, a businesswoman and socialite, says that her company bought an oil bloc in a fair bidding process that took place between 2022 and 2024.

On Monday, Achimugu talked about it on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Reports say that Achimugu had already denied claims that $13 million was found in her home, saying that only $50,000 and N13 million were found during a raid on her home.

She said that her company took part in both the deep offshore bid round that took place between 2022 and 2023 and the mini bid round that took place between 2023 and 2024.

She said that her company, which works in the oil and gas industry, met all the requirements and was successful in the process.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is looking into her comments. They had already put out a warrant for her arrest on charges of money laundering and criminal conspiracy.

As part of its investigation, the anti-corruption agency also searched her home. Different reports have come out about how much money was found during the search.

She said, “There were two bid rounds: the deep offshore bid round, which took place between 2022 and 2023, and the mini bid round, which took place between 2023 and 2024.”

“We took part in this process.” We run an oil and gas company because we have all the resources we need and I’m very brave and ambitious. I have the team to do it.

“We went through that process, and with God’s help, we won it. In a very clear way. It was open to the public. It wasn’t chosen.”
