Peter Obi meets with former president Obasanjo, in Anambra; Peter Obi reveals

State of Anambra, Awka On March 25, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for president in the elections of February 25th, met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Awka, Anambra state. This was announced by Obi, a former governor of the state of Anambra, in a tweet on March 26.
The two were in Anambra to celebrate Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s first year as governor of the state of Anambra. What I discussed about with Obasanjo – Peter Obi Obi was grateful for their “quiet time” together at the Anambra airport.

He said they exchanged views on the “state of play and state of the nation”.

“I am very grateful for the quiet time with the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at the Anambra airport yesterday. We exchanged views on the state of play and state of the nation,” the LP presidential flagbearer tweeted. 

observes that Obasanjo supported Obi’s bid for president in 2023. Despite not being a saint, he claimed the former Anambra governor had an advantage over the other candidates. Obi lost to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, and came third in the poll.
