The Federal Government of Nigeria has urged organised labour unions to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing their crucial role in driving economic growth and national development.

This appeal was made by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, during the commissioning of the new national secretariat of the Construction and Civil Engineering Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (CCESSAN), located in Kuje, Abuja.

Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Labour Partnership

Dingyadi praised CCESSAN’s efforts and highlighted the importance of a strong partnership between the government and the labour sector in achieving national objectives.

“Organised labour is a vital pillar in our mission to ensure decent work conditions and fair treatment for Nigerian workers,” Dingyadi said. “We encourage unions like CCESSAN to collaborate with the Tinubu-led administration to realise the full potential of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

New Secretariat: A Symbol of Progress in Nigeria’s Construction Sector

The minister described the newly inaugurated CCESSAN headquarters as a monument to professionalism, unity, and progress in the construction and civil engineering industry in Nigeria.

“This building is more than just a structure—it symbolizes the power of collaboration and commitment to excellence within the civil engineering community,” he said.

Book Launch: Promoting Occupational Safety in Nigeria

The event also featured the launch of two important books authored by engineer Iyenoma T. Osazee:

  • Occupational Safety and Health Simplified

  • Occupational Safety and Health Handbook

These books aim to improve awareness and implementation of occupational health and safety practices in Nigeria’s construction industry.

Labour Unions as Drivers of Infrastructure and National Growth

Dingyadi urged all stakeholders—government, industry professionals, and unions—to adopt sustainable building practices and invest in professional development and workplace safety.

“We must continue to build not just infrastructure, but a legacy of excellence and integrity for future generations,” the minister stated.

 CCESSAN President Commends Members’ Unity

In his address, Comrade Temidayo Ayodeji, President of CCESSAN, hailed the secretariat’s commissioning as a major achievement reflecting the hard work, unity, and vision of its members.

“This secretariat is a hub for innovation, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth in the Nigerian construction industry,” Ayodeji said.

He also emphasized the significance of the new publications in promoting best practices in occupational safety and civil engineering in Nigeria.
