Nigerian singer, Onoyom Mbuk better known as Iyanya, has bemoaned the expense of music promotion in the country.
The Akwa Ibom-born musician lamented that the least he has spent on music promotion since January 2021 is 27 million naira.
He claimed he spent a whopping 52 million naira on the visuals and promotion of his 2022 hit track ‘Like’, which featured Davido and Kizz Daniel.
Iyanya made this known via his verified Twitter page on Monday.
“Promoting music has become very expensive, if you are lucky to get a song go viral make you Thank God,” he wrote.
The singer added, “The cheapest I have spent on a song since January 2021 is 27m. When I dropped “LIKE” FT Davido and kizz Daniel, we spent 52million, song, Video and promotion.”
He, however, urged up and coming artists not to be discouraged by the bizarre expenses of music promotion. He admonished them to be consistent.
