The Incorporated Trustees of Advocacy for Societal Rights Advancement and Development Initiative have demanded that Bola Tinubu be investigated and subsequently prosecuted before May 29.

The group made the request in a “Affidavit of Urgency” filed with the Federal High Court in Abuja in support of an ex parte motion.

In its main case, the group asked the court for permission to seek an order compelling the Inspector General of Police to investigate Tinubu’s alleged Guinean citizenship perjury and prosecute him if he is found guilty.

In the motion ex parte numbered FHC/ABJ/CS/669/2023 and filed on May 16, 2023, ASRADI alleged that the President-elect lied under oath when he refused to provide information about his Guinean citizenship on Form EC9, which he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission in order to qualify for the 2023 presidential election.

The group stated that it sought intervention from the court because its request to the police to investigate the matter had been unsuccessful.

The organization submitted as evidence a letter written by its executive director, Adeolu Oyinlola, to the IG on May 8.
