Bukie Okangbe, a pillar of the All Progressives Congress, has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to give priority consideration to the appointment of party members who contributed to his victory when naming his cabinet.
On Sunday, she congratulated Tinubu on becoming the new chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, and she did so while doing so.
The call was made in a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja by the National Coordinator of the National Progressive Hub.
The development follows Tinubu’s election as chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS at its 63rd Ordinary Session.

“Your appointment as the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States is a confirmation of the capability, competence, and exemplary leadership experience which transcend the shore of Nigeria,” said Okangbe. You come across as a man who is capable of leading not only his nation but also the wider African continent.
“While extending our congratulations to His Excellency, let us also take this opportunity to humbly request that you use this platform to ensure that your cabinet reflects the devoted, committed, and hard-working party members who sacrificed for the victory of the APC in the most recent presidential election. This will, in our opinion, go a long way toward upholding the notion of justice for which you are renowned and ending the subpar compensation scheme with which our great party has struggled for so long.
We ask that your reign increase the region’s and the continent’s overall economic, political, social, and financial stability and prosperity.
