Wike, El-Rufai, Umahi, other candidates make list as Senate President reads out Tinubu’s ministerial nominees
Godswill Akpabio, the Senate president, read out the 28 ministerial candidates that President Bola Tinubu had submitted for the National Assembly’s consideration on Thursday afternoon.
On the Senate floor, Dave Umahi and Nyesom Wike, the former governors of the states of Ebonyi and Rivers, read Tinubu’s list of ministers.
The list included Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna.
We previously stated that Tinubu’s chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, arrived at the Red Chambers to hand the Senate the list of ministerial nominees for the start of the screening process.
We discovered that Gbajabiamila entered and delivered the 28-person list at 1.20pm.
After that, Akpabio read the 28-name ministerial list.
