The National Youth Service Corps has urged potential corps members, institutions that produce corps, and current corps members to report any violations of the deployment and relocation rules of the programme.

The Director of Press and Public Relations for the NYSC, Eddy Megwa, signed a statement that contained this information.

According to the statement, in compliance with the scheme’s deployment and relocation policies, redeployment, mobilisation, and deployment of corps members were all free of charge.

In order to ensure swift action, the scheme advised corps members and their organisations to report any violations of the policies to NYSC formations located throughout the nation, its National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja, or any other security authorities.

“The management of the National Youth Service Corps wishes to underline that Deployment and Relocation of Prospective Corps Members, as well as Corps Members, are carried out free of charge, in compliance with the Deployment and Relocation policies of the Scheme,” the statement stated.

“In accordance with the established policy, relocation of Corps Members is carried out based on individual merit.

Additionally, there is no fee for mobilising prospective corps members for national service because Corps Producing Institutions do not cover that cost.

Any violation of the aforementioned rules should be reported to the security authorities, NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja, or the heads of the closest NYSC formations nationally for swift action.
