Tinubu appoints three new NUPRC Executive Commissioners

Pending senate approval, President Bola Tinubu has approved the redeployment of one incumbent Executive Commissioner and the appointment of three new Executive Commissioners to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity, Akuri Ngelale, made this revelation in a statement.

Mr. Bashir Indabawa, the executive commissioner for exploration and acreage management in the North West, Dr. Kelechi Ofoegbu, the executive commissioner for corporate services and administration (redeployed) in the South East, Mr. Enorense Amadasu, the executive commissioner for development and production in the South South, and Mr. Babajide Fasina, the executive commissioner for economic regulation and strategic planning in the South West, are the appointed officials.

According to Ajuri’s statement, the President gave his approval for the reorganization and replacement in light of his comprehensive evaluation of all sector-related factors with the goal of creating a regulatory framework and industry culture that promotes diligence and rules-based business practices.

According to the announcement, “President Bola Tinubu has approved the redeployment of one current Executive Commissioner and the appointment of three (3) new Executive Commissioners to serve in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.”
